two sequences with equal sum14 Dec 2006 05:56 GMT5
Suppose there are two sequences.
The first one has 20 numbers; the first number is 10 and the last number is
50.
The second has 9 numbers; it begins with 6 and ends with 34.

Hello people. I'm stuck on the following problem:
" in how many ways can 8 boys be divided into 4 sets of 2?"
This is my answer which is wrong according to the answers in the back :
8C2*6C2*4C2*2C2=2520.
Mortgage problem12 Dec 2006 21:02 GMT3
Hi all; having some trouble with the following:

Subtracting a larger number from a smaller one...04 Dec 2006 21:29 GMT7
sorry, this may be a dumb question AND is not quite algebra...but I
have been unsuccessful finding an answer or even a discussion about
this in a textbook.
Let's say that we need to subtract 23 from 51. We can solve this by
Exponential Equation Question03 Dec 2006 22:37 GMT8
Hi Y'all - basic question (I think) about solving an exponential
equation with the same variable in the base AND the exponent.
Here's the example:
(1+x)^(1/x) = e
Limit calculation with maclaurin series02 Dec 2006 17:58 GMT2
I'm trying to calculate a limit with the help of maclaurin series, and
there is something odd. A part of the limit is 1/(Tan(x))^2 x-> 0 .
Checking this series in mathematica gives: 1/x^2-2/3+x^2/15+...
But i was expecting it to be 1/(x^2+...) which would be 1 divided by the
Inverse of maclaurin polynoma02 Dec 2006 17:58 GMT4
I'm supposed to determine the Maclaurin polynoma of the second order of
the inverse of f(x)=cos(3x)+log(1+2x)-1
The first step should be determining the macluarin polynoma to f(x). It
is: f(x)=1+x^3*B(x)+2x-(2x)^2/2+x^3*B(x)
