1) When you're writing an article, and there are a number of little things that need an elementary proof, is it OK to get them out of the way in a section headed Preliminary Lemmas, just after the introduction -- then refer to them, as lemmas, as one pleases throughout the paper ...

Suppose you were told that 1/2 of the apples you can see could not be seen, and 2/3 of those not seen can be seen, and that you could see 6 dozen dozen apples more than cannot be seen, and 1/2 of the apples that cannot be seen could be seen, and 3/4 of the apples that can be seen ...

Um, yeah, I'm trying to speed up the Leibniz formula for pi 8 times, however, I've run into a little problem here. I'm adding like terms of this series, and finding formulae for it. YES, it does converge to pi, you can even check it.
