Strange sequence22 Jul 2009 10:54 GMT5
I am interested in studying a particular sequence using Maple, but the
sequence's complexity prevents me from coding it in Maple. I will give some
examples:
The first term is an arbitrary number n \in N.

4 (2 + Sqrt[3])^(1/4)/3 *
Hypergeometric2F1[-1/4, 3/4, 7/4, (2 - Sqrt[3])/4]
- (2 + Sqrt[3])^(1/4)/3 *

Simple bouncing ball.19 Jul 2009 22:52 GMT1
Hello, someone can you tell me how to set up the mathematical problem of a
ball that falls vertically, according to an anelastic impact, then with
dissipation of energy, without taking account of the resistance of the air?
Thanks

The CDF of the binomial distribution, P(X<=c | n and p), is a rational
number, if  p is a rational number (n and c are positive integers).
stats[statevalf,cdcf,binomiald[n,p]](c) computes P(X<=c | n and p),
but the output is a floating point number.

hi maple-cracks.
once again, i have some trouble with maple.
i use maple to solve some difficult math  that cannot be solved by the
finite element environment i am using in an engineering problem.
Subscript Selector Error05 Jul 2009 22:07 GMT4
Maple 13 on microsoft xp.
Execution of the procedure findna, listed below, generates the
message: subscript selector error, and the last if statement is not
executed. The results printed on lines 4, 7 and 8 are correct.
Student Calculus Capability02 Jul 2009 03:40 GMT1
I seem to recall that an earlier version of Maple was capable of solving
a problem such as differentiation
and showing the result of each step it used to arrive at the solution. It
also would, if I recall correctly, print
