How many mathematicl jokes are there?29 Apr 2005 21:28 GMT15
If one wants to tell a joke, he'd do it with a smiley.
For example,
There aren't any mathematical jokes. ;-)
Now if one wants to tell a joke with a straight face, that is easy.

The # Operation29 Apr 2005 18:28 GMT17
I recall seeing this problem used as a means of testing software that does
Mathematical deductions. I though it might also make for an entertaining
recreational algebra problem.
We have a set U with a binary operation #. It is not known if # is

You can make Sum / Difference.28 Apr 2005 12:55 GMT7
These recreational problems/puzzles require one to convert a grid of
integers into a different grid of integers ("the goal") using a simple
process:

How to calculate Dilbert error26 Apr 2005 22:26 GMT17
Hello, helpful people,

And even if I am right I'm not sure how large that error is.
JSH: Image check25 Apr 2005 19:19 GMT7
I spend a lot of time focusing on explaining my mathematical research
in ever simpler ways with the idea that if I can put out the
information in an easy to check format, then some people are going to
realize I'm correct.

Intersection of Cylinders23 Apr 2005 16:43 GMT8
Picture two Cylinders of radius r that intersect at right angles.
The volume common to both cylinders is a funny looking shape that
is round in cross section in two directions and square in the third.
It will smoothly roll in two orthogonal directions.
