math symbols 'systems'30 Jul 2008 13:44 GMT2
I heard a while back of a common and well known system that was around that
allowed users to represent any mathematics symbol or constant on a computer
screen.
Not sure if this is the right group to ask, but does anyone know what I mean

Hamiltonian cycles in non-simple graphs11 Jul 2008 18:51 GMT1
I'm sorry if this is not the proper place to ask graph theoretic
questions.
Theorems related to hamiltonian cycles (Bondy-Chvátal,Dirac,Ore) are
valid for simple graphs and I was unable to find a generalisation for

Express the following in the form z=Re{Ae^(i(wt + a))}
z = sin(wt) + cos(wt)
z = cos(wt - pi/3) - cos(wt)
z = sin(wt) - 2cos(wt - pi/4) + cos(wt)

Question about trapezoids08 Jul 2008 13:08 GMT7
(Deep breath)
I've got an isosceles triangle ABC.  There's a line DE cutting across it which looks like it's parallel to the base BC, but we don't know for sure.
The question is, given that the diagonals BE and DC are of equal length, show that the quadrilateral BCDE is cyclic.
If ...
