Is there a way to disable or overload the shell escape '!' operator?  I would like to be able to capture and parse any suspicious text following the '!' before the command it issued.

I downloaded SuiteSparse to run it on MATLAB and would like to know if it makes a difference in the performance if installing also LAPACK and Goto BLAS as recommended on the SuiteSparse page.

I need to draw a 3d plot as follows:
