Dear comp.soft-sys.stat.spss, I have two groups of people, 1 and 2, that differ on a cognitive variable, C, and on an EEG variable, E. I'm told (on sci.stat.math) that the usual way to see how C and E might be connected, is to regress

I am reviewing a piece of research in which a correlation of .6 has been found between two variables. The scatterplot is okay. However, the N is 12. I remember reading somewhere that an N of 50 was the minimum required for a correlation.
