Joining tables in SPSS?31 Oct 2006 15:47 GMT2
I am continuously revising a data mining model, by including several
economic variables to individual records. In order to introduce a new

then import the query in SPSS. The resulting .sav file is then used for

methodologies found in many of the textbooks, it doesn't work.  Their
calculating means of columns as a new case27 Oct 2006 06:11 GMT2
Hi comp.soft-sys.stat.spss,
Using the 'compute' command I can calculate the mean of a row(s) and
the mean will be put in a new column as a new variable. Is there anyway
to calculate the mean of a column(s) and have the mean appear in a new
convert string variables into numeric variables26 Oct 2006 14:28 GMT4
I have a string variable "radio station" with several case and
description options but all meaning the same radio station. I want to
convert this in to a numeric variable and then use the order to
"recode". I think, for clarity, it will be better to use this numeric
Display only missing Cases26 Oct 2006 14:24 GMT2
Hello all, I am a graduate assistant working on a research study and

SPSS 15 Export to PDF26 Oct 2006 12:58 GMT12
Say I have about 50 CTables, each appropriately titled, and I export
them to PDF.  I get a nice PDF document, but the navigation pane is
collapsed to the top level, so I get 50 instances of the word, "Table,"
which is not helpful at all.
Regression-overall F not significant, one predictor significant26 Oct 2006 01:59 GMT4
I got this result in SPSS. What are the reasons that this might happen?
Thank you.

Hi, I have an spss database with about 400 variables, all called
different names. i.e. they are not in order like v1... v400, they are
called name, blood group, hair colour, etc. I want to rename them to be
called v1....v400.
ANSI file23 Oct 2006 23:30 GMT2
I've encountered a strange syntax problem and wondered if anybody had any
insights about its origin.
I used the "read data file" option to creat a TPF file that read a text
dataset into SPSS. There is a 1 column variable in the first column of the
